Join us for the first-ever Shoalwater Seafood Oyster Tasting and Tour, In Tokeland!


Shoalwater Seafood is happy to announce our first-ever overnight oyster experience in Tokeland, WA.  Join us for an evening of oyster tasting, wine pairing (or beer!), and hosted discussions on Friday, November 17th The Shoalwater Bay Indian Tribe’s hotel and event center Tradewinds on the Bay.


This is the first event of this kind and we are excited for the opportunity to show you our home and talk about what we love best!  On Friday evening, ticket holders should have checked into the hotel into their included room, have dinner on their own locally if they want (we will have oysters and appetizer-style food during the tasting), and meet at our event center located adjacent to Tradewinds at 6:00 pm.   


We will give a brief introduction of our Farmers hosting the evening, overview and history of our seafood company and Shoalwater Bay Tribe.  We will then move to presenting our flagship oysters, Toke Points, and talk about how they are grown and where.  We will then introduce at least three other premium half-shell oysters from one of our partner farms from different water bodies and different growing techniques.  We will then dive into discussion around flavor, wine/beer pairing, why an oyster tastes the way it does, different raw preparations, and, if weather allows, end the evening around a fire grilling oysters on an open flame.  There will be a complimentary glass of beer or wine and a cash bar for the remainder of the evening.

The following morning, we will meet for breakfast at the famous Wandering Goose Restaurant at the close by Tokeland Hotel at 9:00 a.m.  At 10:00 am we will walk the grounds from the Tokeland Hotel to view and talk about the oyster farm from land.  The price of the breakfast is included.


We will then visit the Tokeland Marina and view/tour our FLUPSY (Floating UPweller System, basically a floating oyster nursery!)


We will conclude our tour at the Upland Set Facility where the oyster magic begins, have a final discussion and Q/A send everyone home with one dozen Toke Point oysters, farm swag, oyster knife, and a sampler of oysters from the previous night all wrapping up around 1:00 pm.

o   Presentation and discussion of Shoalwater Seafood and how and why we grow oysters the way we do in Willapa Bay

o   Help yourself to select Beer and Wines available for pairing (the first one's on us)

o   Breakfast (select options) at the Wandering Goose

o Mid-day tour of Farm, Flupsy, and Set Facility in Tokeland

o  Oyster knife and 1 Dozen Toke Point Oysters
